Berry Creek Middle School is committed to bringing the benefits of FIRST
LEGO League to Summit County and the Western Slope. Located in beautiful Edwards,
Colorado, just west of the Vail Ski resorts, Berry Creek provides an excellent venue for this exciting
competition.
Berry Creek Middle School is part of the Eagle County School District,
serving the county of Eagle including the communities of Vail and Beaver Creek,
and the towns of Minturn, Red Cliff, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum. The district has
nine elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, one alternative
high school, and two charter schools. For more information, see

From Denver using I70: (About 2 hours.) Take I70 West continue
past Idaho Springs, Frisco, Vail, Edwards and Wolcott. Take exit 163 toward
Edwards. Take first right on Beard Creek Road and then the first right onto
Berry Creek road. Then take the first right onto Rawhide Road and the 2nd right
onto Winslow Road. Finally, take the first left onto Miller Ranch Road. Berry
Creek Middle School is at 1000 Miller Ranch Road, Edwards, CO 81632.
From Colorado Springs using I25: (About 3 hours.) Take I25 north
to south Denver. Then take C470 West. Turn west on I70 and follow the directions
above for Denver.
From Glenwood Springs using I70: (About 50 minutes.) Take I70
East. Take exit 147. Then follow the directions above for Denver.
From Aspen using CO82: (About 2 hours.) Take CO82
north to Glenwood Springs. Take I70 East and then take exit 147. Then follow the
directions above for Denver.

One of our school clubs will be offering pizza, sandwiches, snacks and drinks for sale.
You are welcome to bring in your own food, but refrigerators and microwaves will
not be provided. For safety reasons, the electrical outlets
in the Pit and Common Areas are for computers and charging batteries only.
No Crockpots, Microwaves, Refrigerators, Toaster Ovens, Deep Fat Fryers, etc.!
You may have time to go to a local establishment for food, but remember to be
back on time. No make-ups for missed competition rounds, project
presentations or technical interviews!

There are a variety of hotels in Edwards, Eagle, Avon, Beaver Creek and Vail. As of September 13, 2009, rates on
Travelocity (www.travelocity.com) started
at $79 but most were closer to $130. Our competition will be at the beginning of
ski season, so book early!

There are several good restaurants within five minutes of the competition. If
you choose to go out for lunch, please be back on time. Remember, no make-ups
for missed competition rounds, project presentations or technical interviews!

There is plenty to do in Eagle County including hiking, horseback riding,
sledding, and of course, skiing!
